One of the main aims of the training is a theoretical and practical approach to Mediation. The different types of mediation which are Private Mediation, Cultural Mediation, and Court Sponsored Mediation is highly present.
This is a situation where a neutral third party will facilitate discussions between parties in conflict in an attempt to assist them to resolve their conflict.
This is a very important instrument that particular attention needs to be focused on. The distinction will be made about why and how there is private and court sponsored mediation and how and when to use them.
Furthermore, another strong arm that we do focalize on is Arbitration. Here, we treat types of Arbitration like Private Arbitration and Court Sponsored Arbitration where diplomacy and adjudication prevail.
This is a situation where the parties themselves do accept to arbitrate their disputes either before or after the dispute has occurred. The techniques will be well developed to enable participants to excel where ever they find themselves.
Peace-building is an approach that can be used to evade the surfacing of a conflict in societies or states that have not yet experienced conflict and a resurfacing of conflict in states that have already experienced it. We suppose this is the pre-occupation of each society either not to experience it or after experiencing conflict in order to avoid a surfacing or resurfacing of a conflict but to promote peace, security, and development.
For countries that have not yet experienced conflict, peace-building mechanisms are put in place to prevent the outbreak of a conflict. Peace-building techniques on how to build up structures that will assist in strengthening states in constructing sustainable social harmony and democratic development as an aim to beget peace and security within the states in Cameroon and Africa as a whole is imperative for our Center.

Another important component of the Center in enhancing capacity is Intercultural Communication. Knowledge and skills in intercultural communication have become critically instrumental in meeting with the current challenges of the world today.
Businesses have started diversifying their services as never before, people are moving into different parts of the world and working in the cultures of their new societies. Within Cameroon, Cameroonians live and travel within the national territory for business, military services as well as civil servants, for religious purposes every day. With these activities, the awareness and movement towards multiculturalism or cultural diversity are imperative.
Our training Center has taken note of all these challenges and is training participants to acquire the various skills of intercultural communication. The capacity to communicate with people from other cultural roots is golden. That permits people to interact in a wide national economy and among an increasingly diverse population of the country and beyond.
Digital Literacy and Online Campaigns are one of the courses we are offering. We have realized that one cannot do without computer knowledge in understanding aspects of communication, “Hate Speech”, “Fake News” in the domain of peace and security. In order to strengthen our participants, there is a course on how to transfer this capacity to them.
This course will help strengthen freedom of speech and create a sane environment when discussing issues of peace studies before, during, and after a conflict. So, the course will take through the participants to understand the challenges, opportunities, and implications of connecting to the internet and how to use some of today’s most marketable online platforms to build campaigns in conflict Resolution, Management, and transformation.
Since time immemorial until date, mainstream newspapers, televisions, radio and recent social media headlines about African countries like Angola, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda hold that ethnic, clan-based, or inter-tribal conflicts have submerged the continent.
They give the impression as if these conflicts will never disappear due to the lack of qualified skills and equipment. This negative image or attribute of Africa has made the Training Center enhance the capacity of its participants’ needs and interests like the techniques of managing conflicts of diversity. Here, we make participants understand that diversity on its own is not negative.
Diversity, heterogeneity, pluralism, multiculturalism can all be uniting and creative forces able to provide material that will foster collective nationality. The contingency and complementary techniques will be amplified to demonstrate that sustainable peace and security are possible in Africa.
The Center has decided that one of its brain programs must seriously address the issue of “Hate Speech” and Freedom of Speech as one of the factors dividing many societies and states of the world today. In relation to that, we have adopted some strategies other than legal instruments to eliminate hate and build love in a multicultural, pluralistic society.
The training is exploring the natural and comprehensible reasons why thoughtful and well-intentioned people are contributing to eliminating “hate speech” and promoting a free and democratic society. The Center, confirming that “Hate Speech is harmful; has decided to use multiple methods of addressing it that will not compromise freedom of speech or the risk in promoting censorship.
In our training Center, it has been realized that situations or people can be transformed from violent to non-violent situations or individuals. This can be done through techniques of Conflict Transformation.
Usually, conflicts originate because the situation is not conducive or actors do not really work in the context of the required needs and interests. These two and many other factors have been generating or escalating conflicts and threatening peace and security. This situation is seriously being handled in our Center in order to plant sustainable peace and security.
The Center is also training its participants on the endogenous domestic political constellations and processes that are creating conflicts in multicultural or pluralistic states. This is because one of its objectives is to prove that there is no more homogenous state in the current world and particularly that African states were born from multiculturalism but are using imported techniques of homogeneity.
For this reason and associated factors, the Center is training its participants to grow skills in negotiating with minorities, majorities, and governments to shove aside the old homogenous models of state system which do no more respond to the needs and interests of citizens of multicultural states today.
This is not only within states but the international dimension of different people composing the world is being addressed as well. The specificities of different regions of the world will be upheld for the different people to accept, tolerate, and recognize on an equal basis, the difference of people in the world.
This is helping in assisting and fostering cultural diplomacy and holding the truth to be self-evidenced that: “all men and women are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…”
